The State Eligibility Test (SET) is based on the pattern of the National Eligibility Test (CSIR/UGC-NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR.

Educational Qualifications:
1. PG degree in related subjects with 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH). Final year candidates can also apply
2. The PhD degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks.

Age Limit: No upper age limit

Examination Fee: For OC - Rs 700/ BC - Rs 500/ SC/ST/PH/VH - Rs 250/

Examination Date: 27 JULY 2012

Scheme of Examination:

First	I	60 out of which 50 questions are to be attempted	100	1¼ Hours (09.30 am to 10.45 am)
First	II	50 questions all of which are compulsory	100	1¼ Hours (10.45 am to 12.00 noon)
Second	III	75 questions all of which are compulsory	150	2½ Hours (01.30 pm to 04.00 pm)
