Zoological Survey of India invites application for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Project Scientist and Monitoring Staff .  Last Date for submission of application is 09 November 2015.

Eligibility:

Essential Qualification: 
Junior Research Fellow (JRF): A first Class MSc with majors in Marine Biology, Environmental or any Life Sciences. Must be willing to pursue a PhD through the project within 6-12 months of joining the project (Topics of study must be in line with the general theme of the research project ). Should be physically fit, not be adverse to work in marine conditions. Should able to perform waterman ship of 10 minutes swim/float without swimming aids and complete 200 meter continues surface swim or 300 meter swim with mask fins and snorkel. Should be willing to take up SCUBA diving training. Should be willing to stay in Lakshadweep, for monitoring purposes and as per the requirement of the research topic

Project Scientist: Should hold a PhD degree in Marine Biology or related field. Candidate should have a PhD topic on coral re efs or have at least three years research experience in coral reefs. Should have CMAS** or PADI advanced open water certification – or CMAS * or PADI open water certification with the at least 80 dives logged in, and with extensive experience in marine filed works. Used GIS soft wares before, in projects and have the confidence to using them in the current project. Ability to communicate fluently and clearly.Should have proven research record with publications to showcase. Should be physically fit and not adverse to field work.

Monitoring Staff : Should have passed +2 in science stream (Higher Secondary) .Should be physically fit, not be adverse to work in marine conditions. Should able to perform waterman ship of 10 minutes swim/float without swimming aids and complete 200 meter continues surface swim or 300 meter swim with mask fins and snorkel. Should be willing to take up SCUBA diving training. Should have a cordial nature and willing to work in a team.
