Assam Police Recruitment 2015 for Sub-Inspector and Assistant Jailors

Office of the additional Director General of Police, Assam invites application from Eligible candidates for filling up 346 vacancies in the rank of Sub Inspector of Police including 62 SI for special branch and 27 posts of Assistant Jailor in Department of Prison. Last Date of  submission of online Application is 15 February 2016.

Post: Sub Inspector of Police (Un-armed Branch) and Assistant Jailor in Department of Prison

1. Sub Inspector : 346 vacancies
2. Assistant Jailor: 27 vacancies


Pay Band: Rs 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay 3300/-

Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India ordinarily resident of Assam.

Age Limit:
1. Sub Inspector: 20 to 24 Years as on 01 July 2015
2. Assistant Jailor: 21 to 38 Years as on 1st January of Selection Year

Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 (five) years in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST (H) and ST (P).

Educational Qualification:
1. Sub Inspector:The candidate must be a graduate in Arts, Science, Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College / Institutions affiliated to a recognized University.

2. Assistant Jailor:  Degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce of recognized University. Diploma in the fields of Criminology and Correctional Works, ‘A’/’B’/’C’ Certificate of Membership of the National Cadet Corps (in case of candidates other than Ex-Servicemen) and Diploma in computer Application is desirable

Candidates have to fulfill specific Physical and Medical Standards. (See Notification below)

Mode of Selection: Selection will be made on the basis of Written test and PET

Starting date of online application:                       01-12-2015
Last Date of Submission of Online Application : 15-12-2015. 

A facilitation centers will be opened at the offices of the District Superintendent of Police in each district with a staff to help the candidates in submitting online application. Candidates will be allowed to give preferences at the time of applying online for either of the three categories of posts . a) District Executive Force or b) Special Branch Organization c) Assistant Jailor. A candidate can also give preference for all the post. However, the decision of the authority will be final. There is no application fee.
